How our service can help you
We are an outpatient programme for adults with bipolar disorder who have recently had several hospital admissions
for an affective episode. The service is modelled on a Danish Mood
Disorders clinic and aims to reduce the risk of recurrence and
readmission to hospital.
The programme has two main phases. The core programme, designed to
consolidate recovery, provides individually tailored psychoeducation,
regular psychiatric review, occupational therapy, physical health
assessment and a newly developed cognitive pathway and group
psychoeducation provides a 10-session programme of learning, peer
support and self-management strategies for bipolar disorder.
Where appropriate, carers are provided with support and new for Autumn
2021 is a family and friends psychoeducation group.
