Deputy Director appointed for NIHR King’s Clinical Research Facility
Professor Galloway will work and support Professor Peter Goadsby, Director of the NIHR King’s CRF, with the overall strategic leadership, management and delivery of trials within the facility. Clinical Research Facilities exist to help speed up the translation of scientific advances for the benefit of patients, and work closely with related parts of the NIHR infrastructure, including the NIHR Maudsley Biomedical Research Centre.

The CRF is contracted through The South London and Maudsley NHS Trust and is pivotal to the delivery of experimental medicine and clinical trials in mental health, neurology and general medicine across Denmark Hill. Prof Galloway is an exceptional clinician and scientist with a long-standing interest in the mental -physical health interface and will be a huge asset to the CRF team.
Professor James Galloway combines clinical and academic work. He is an Honorary Consultant Rheumatologist based at King’s College Hospital, as well as a Professor of Rheumatology, and Deputy Head of the Centre for Rheumatic Diseases, in the School of Immunology and Microbial Sciences at King's College London.

About the NIHR King's Clinical Research Facility (CRF)
The NIHR King's Clinical Research Facility (CRF) is a purpose-built facility to support clinical trials in mental health, neurology, general and acute medicine. It is situated within King's College Hospital, on the Denmark Hill Campus of King's College London, close to our partner South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust. The CRF houses high-quality experimental medicine facilities, where specialist clinical research and support staff work together on patient-orientated commercial and non-commercial studies.
The King's CRF is academically supported by King’s Health Partners, an Academic Health Sciences Centre collaboration between King’s College London, South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust, Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, and King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
The King's CRF is one of 28 Clinical Research Facilities for Experimental Medicine supported nationally by the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR).
