Mosaic Clubhouse and the Lambeth Alliance shortlisted for HSJ Award

Mosaic Clubhouse and the Lambeth Living Well Network Alliance are delighted to announce that they have been shortlisted for the Best Mental Health Partnership with the NHS category at the HSJ Partnership Awards 2022, recognising their outstanding contribution to healthcare – in what has been an exceptional and challenging period across the sector. The Lambeth Living Well Network Alliance brings together member organisations: South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust, Lambeth Council, Certitude and Thames Reach, along with health and social care commissioners to deliver a transformation in the way people in Lambeth recover from mental ill health and stay well.

Despite the demanding circumstances of the past 2 years, over 190 entries have been received for this year’s HSJ Partnership Awards, with 123 projects making it to the final shortlist. The volume and standards of applications has been a true testament to those health and social care staff, who continue to push outstanding work and transformational projects across the sector.

The judging panel was once again made up of a diverse range of highly influential and respected figures within the healthcare community, including Dr Matt Aiello (National Programmes Lead, Education Reform, Health Education England); Dr Elena Bechberger (National Programme Director – LVHC Programme, NHS England and NHS Improvement); Claire Igoe (Head of Environmental Sustainability - Manchester University FT) and Vinice Thomas (Director of Nursing and Quality, NHS England and NHS Improvement).

Following the intense and in-depth judging process, Mosaic Clubhouse and the Lambeth Living Well Network Alliance have been shortlisted, ahead of the official awards ceremony to be held on 24 March, 2022. Standing out amongst tough competition from hundreds of other exemplary applicants, Mosaic Clubhouse and the Lambeth Living Well Network Alliance have been selected based on their ambition, visionary spirit and the demonstrable positive impact that their work has had on patient and staff experiences within the health and social care sector.

Mosaic Clubhouse is a thriving Lambeth based charity that provides opportunities for people experiencing mental health issues to regain the confidence and skills necessary to lead productive and satisfying lives.

The Living Well Network Alliance is the first fully integrated mental health service in the country. Since 2018, health, social care and independent sector colleagues have formally joined together, replacing numerous old community mental health teams, to provide a more patient centred service with a single point of access. Working hand in hand with valued partners such as Mosaic Clubhouse is crucial to supporting people to live well in their communities.

Mosaic has a long history of working together, side-by-side and face-to-face, and so the first national lockdown, which forced Mosaic Clubhouse to close its doors for the first time in its 25- year history, presented real challenges. Many Clubhouse members rely on the Clubhouse community for practical and emotional support, as well as for a place in which to engage in meaningful activities. However, over many years Mosaic’s members have built a resilient community and a strong commitment to mutual support. Mosaic managed to adapt its offer and to find a new way to sustain its community away from the Clubhouse.

Chris Thomas, Chief Executive at Mosaic Clubhouse, said: "We are delighted to have been shortlisted for the Best Mental Health Partnership with NHS Award. This recognises the collaborative efforts and dedication of our staff and our members over the last 18 months to successfully work together to ensure our services stayed open during the Covid 19 pandemic. Without the support of our statutory partner, the Lambeth Living Well Network Alliance, none of this would be possible. We are committed to delivering improved outcomes for our members, and to be chosen among the other incredible nominees is a wonderful achievement. This nomination has been a tremendous boost to staff and all our members at Mosaic Clubhouse and I am sure it will bolster our continued efforts to improve our services."

Sabrina Phillips, Living Well Network Alliance Director, said: "I am delighted that our partners Mosaic Clubhouse have been shortlisted for Best Mental Health Partnership with the NHS category at the HSJ Partnership Awards 2022, recognising the collaborative efforts and dedication of Mosaic staff members to successfully continue to offer a service to the people of Lambeth. This is a fantastic achievement ,well done to all involved."
