A night at the Staff Awards 2023: Celebrating our winners and nominees!
On Thursday 23 February, staff at the South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust came together to recognise and celebrate the outstanding achievements made by individuals and teams at the annual Staff Awards. Since 2020, staff have taken to celebrating virtually, however, this year staff finally reunited to celebrate in person with almost 250 staff members attending and 591 being nominated.
There were fifteen awards handed out in total, with certificates and trophies being presented to the winning staff and teams in recognition of their excellent work and contributions.
David Bradley said:
“Our staff go above and beyond to provide excellent care to those who use our services. I am extremely privileged to work alongside every member of staff at South London and Maudsley and proud of the difference that our staff make to the lives of those in our community.”

Special Recognition Award - Digital Services
The South London and Maudsley Recovery College Community Inclusion Curriculum Co-production Team gave a powerful acceptance speech talking about the importance of compassion in healthcare. They said:
“we urgently need to make compassion a clear, luminous and dynamic force in our polarized world. Rooted in a principled determination to transcend selfishness, compassion can break down political, dogmatic, ideological and religious boundaries. Born of our deep interdependence, compassion is essential to human relationships and to a fulfilled humanity”.
Norman Lamb, Chair of South London and Maudsley, said:
“Congratulations to everyone who was shortlisted and thank you to everyone who nominated their friends and colleagues. To be nominated by your friends, colleagues or those who use our services is a real honour”.
