Perceptions of the Consent for Contact Research Register: Focus Groups

We would like to hear your opinions on the Consent for Contact Research Register. 

Can I take part?
We are looking for service users and/or their carers who identify as Asian men and have had experience of being approached about joining the Consent for Contact research register.

What will happen if I take part?
You will be asked to complete a short questionnaire about yourself and take part in focus groups - a meeting with other service users/ carers, to discuss your thoughts and ideas about the Consent for Contact Research Register.
How long will the focus groups last?
1.5h
Where will I need to go? 
Focus groups will either take place remotely, using a video communication app, or at King’s College London, Denmark Hill Campus.
We will thank you for your participation with a small gift of £15 and reasonable travel costs will be reimbursed.

Inclusion Criteria

For Year 1:
(1) Any service user who identifies as a woman currently receiving SLaM services aged 18 and above.
(2) Any service user who identifies as man and is south Asian in ethnicity currently receiving SLaM services aged 18+.
(3) A previous response of 'no' to being on the C4C register

For Years 2 and 3, we will include participants who are identified as being underrepresented on the C4C register based on their age, gender, ethnicity and primary diagnosis.
 

Exclusion Criteria

Our exclusion criteria for all three years involves:
Participants whose care team specify concerns regarding taking part in the study.
People in whom significant concerns have been raised relating to risk (e.g. identified through EPJS/ C4C records). Inability to give informed consent.
