The Lambeth CAMHS Youth Justice Service is part of Lambeth Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS). We work with young people known to the Lambeth Council Youth Justice Service (YJS) who have mental health difficulties.

Our team is embedded within Lambeth Council’s Youth Justice Service. We offer tier 2 and tier 3 assessment and intervention. We offer a range of therapeutic interventions to young people; this includes one to one sessions, family therapy, and group therapy.

Our team includes a dedicated a clinical specialist who works with professionals, young people and families where there are concerns of sexually harmful behaviour.

We also have a dedicated liaison and diversion mental health professional who offers early assessment and intervention to young people coming into contact with the criminal justice system.

We aim to work flexibly and creatively with our young people in order to help meet their needs. The young people that we work with are often vulnerable with complex and diverse needs, and so we work closely with other services involved in the young person’s care including children’s services, police and schools.

Our team members come from varied backgrounds that include child and adolescent psychiatry, clinical and counselling psychology, community psychiatric nursing and mental health social work.

We are based at the Lambeth Civic Centre, and our appointments often take place in various community sites within the borough. We can also see young people at one of the other community Lambeth CAMHS mental health centres.
