How our service can help you
The Lewisham Child and Adolescent Neuro-developmental Service is a tier
3 Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) for children and
young people who live in the London Borough of Lewisham. This service is
for children and young people who have had severe and complex problems
for some time.
We provide assessment, treatment and care co-ordination for children
and young people, up to the age of 18, with a significant learning
disability and/or complex neurodevelopmental disorders.
We support children, young people, and their families, who may be
experiencing anxieties around their health. We can provide advice on
treatment options and help them to maintain their health.
The NDT provide care for children and young people whose mental health
problems may include
- Extreme and challenging behaviour
- Self-harm
- Anxiety problems
- Low mood
- Low self-esteem
- Hyperactivity and poor concentration,
- Anger and significant difficulties with developmental tasks, such as soiling, bedwetting, sleep and eating problems.
Our team is made up of people from different backgrounds, that work together to provide multi-disciplinary care. This is likely to include child and adolescent psychiatrists, social workers, clinical psychologists, community psychiatric nurses, child psychotherapists, occupational therapists, as well as art, music and drama therapists.
