How our service can help you
The Paediatric Hospital Liaison Team is part of Lewisham Child and
Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS). Our team is for children and
young people, up to the age of 18, who live in the London Borough of Lewisham.
We co-ordinate psychological assessments for children and young people
being cared for at University Hospital Lewisham. Our team is here to
help manage the emotional impact of physical illness on children, young
people and families, and improve their ability to manage the illness and
its effects.
Weprovide mental health input for children and young people children
with acute illnesses, and those with chronic and life-limiting
conditions. This includes conditions such as cystic fibrosis, asthma,
and diabetes. This service is for children and young people who have had
severe and complex problems for some time.
We have close links with paediatric staff in the hospital, child
development teams, and other CAMHS teams.
