How our service can help you
Southwark Child and Family Service offers specialist assessment and
treatment to children and young people, up to 12 years old, who have
complex mental health problems. Our service also includes the Hope
Project; a mini-team for children and young people, up to 18 years old,
who have been affected by trauma.
We accept referrals from GPs, health professionals, social workers,
school staff, the voluntary sector, and self-referrals from families.
The children and young people that are referred to us must be registered
with a Southwark GP.
We work with children, young people and their families to help them
gain a better understanding of their issues, and the type of
intervention that may help before agreeing a care plan.
At times we may need to work with other agencies if the difficulties
faced by a family are quite complex. We will usually work with the
referrer, and other agencies to work out how CAMHS can help.
